Varagarv's kit includes a provoke and an AoE HP Recovery block, which makes him really valuable.
He's mostly played in mono purple, due to his passive, but could be used outside of them too if needed.

Special Move - Shadow Wolf

Varagarv increases his Max HP by 200% for 10s. He then summons 3 demonic dogs that charge at the enemy to deal 800% of his ATK as DMG. If there is another enemy nearby, the dogs charge at them as well. Enemies bitten by a dog have their HP Recovery blocked for 10s and take 2% of Varagarv's Max HP as Bleed DMG every second. (Max: 3 stacks)

Active Skill - Black Chain

Varagarv swings a chain to deal 1 200% of his ATK as DMG to nearby enemies, Provoking them for 5s.
In addition, he creates a barrier equal to 100% of his Max HP for 10s.
When the barrier from Black Chain is destroyed, the enemy who destroyed the barrier takes 50% of the barrier amount as DMG.

Active Skill - The Strongest Regular

Varagarv deals 640% of his ATK as DMG to the enemy with the highest DEF, then Knocks them Back to the edge of the battlefield for 4s.
If Varagarv's Max HP is higher than the target's, he deals 20% of his Max HP as additional damage. (Always lands on bosses)
In addition, Varagarv deals 400% of his ATK as DMG to enemies in range and Knocks them Back for 2s.

Passive - Blood Bond

Varagarv's DEF increases by 90% for every Purple element ally other than himself at the start of the battle.
In addition, the cooldown of Black Chain decreases by 0,5s every time he is hit.
Each time a barrier from Black Chain is destroyed, Varagarv creates another barrier equal to 30% of the original barrier for 10s and recovers 40% of his Max HP.

Level 1 Effect

Varagarv decreases the Physical Resistance of enemies Provoked with the Black Chain skill by 30% for 10s.

Level 2 Effect

Varagarv's Max HP increases by 10% until the end of the battle every time he uses a skill.

Level 3 Effect

Varagarv recovers 10% of his Max HP every second for each barrier that is active.

Level 4 Effect

Varagarv unleashes the Blood Tamara when his HP falls below 30%, increasing his Max HP by 50% for 10s, making him Invincible for 3s, and resetting the cooldown of Black Chain. (Limit: once)

Revolution 4: Blood Bond

Blood Bond's DEF Increase effect cannot be removed with buff removal skills.

Revolution 5: Shadow Wolf

Shadow Wolf's HP Increase effect cannot be removed with buff removal skills. Gains Status Effect Immunity for 5s upon using the skill.

Increases HP by 100% and Effect Hit by 95 in Arenas.

Notes

Bari is best for overall survivability.
If you can keep him alive and reduce his Active Skill cooldowns, then Mywongwol becomes better.
Rafflesia or Runda are acceptable options as well, but generally not as effective as the other two.
