He used to be really strong, and can still be used at times, but he isn't that great anymore.
His survivability is decent and the Barrier Block could help.
Meliodas unleashes his magical power to deal 800% of his ATK as DMG to the enemy. Knocking them down for 2s.
Meliodas becomes Invincible while using this skill and deals 8% of his ATK as additional DMG for every 1% of Magic Pierce he has.
For the next 6s, the DMG Meliodas takes from each hit does not exceed 5% of his Max HP.
Meliodas's Magic Pierce increases by 20% for 10s. He then launches 2 magic orbs to deal 400% of his ATK as DMG to the enemy 2 times, Locking them for 2s.
He then strikes down with his sword to deal 600% of his ATK as DMG.
Each hit deals 1% of his ATK as additional DMG for every 1% of the taarget;s remaining HP.
Meliodas deals 400% of his ATK as DMG 4 times to enemies in range.
Of the enemies hit by the final attack, the 2 enemies with the lowest HP are afflicted with a Barrier Block debuff for 8s.
Meliodas applies 3 Shackles of Purgatory effect(s) on himself at the start of the battle.
1 Shackles of Purgatory effect is removed whenever Meliodas is hit with an enemy's Special Move, and he takes 80% less DMG from the attack.
When all Shackles of Purgatory effects are removed, Meliodas unleashes his True Power, increasing his ATK by 80%, his Magic Pierce by 20%, and recovers 100% Energy.
True Power is removed once Meliodas uses his Special Move, and Meliodas applies 3 Shackles of Purgatory effect(s) on himself again after 6s. Shackles of Purgatory and True Power cannot be removed with buff removal skills.)
Physical Resistance
Meliodas's Magic Pierce increases by 10% at the start of the battle.
The Magic Resistance of the target struck by the last hit of "Chain Slash" decreases by 40% for 8s.
Meliodas's ATK increases by 50% when attacking debuffed enemies.
Meliodas's DMG taken from each hit changes so that it does not exceed 3% of his Max HP when "Trillion Dark" activates.
Recovers 3% of HP every sec for 6s after using Trillion Dark.
Removes debuffs inflicted on the caster and gains Status Effect Immunity for 2s when True Power is granted.
Increases Magic Pierce by 30% and Swiftness by 50 in Arenas.
(This buff cannot be removed with buff removal skills.)

Bari is best for overall survivability.
Runda is a solid option as well, since he has a Damage Taken cap and his shield will last long enough.
Idea is also viable, to spam to quick Special Moves, but it won't do much afterwards.
